상반좌

Definition

상반좌(常盤座, 1908~1929)는 1908년에 상락동에 공연을 위한 극장 상반좌(常盤座)가 설립되었다. 초기에는 단층집이었는데, 1914년 2층 138평 규모로 증축하였다. 아마추어들이 벌이는 소인극과 신극운동을 벌이던 토월회의 신극도 공연하며 조선인들의 관람객도 불러들이고 하였는데, 계속적인 운영의 어려움을 겪다 1929년 폐관되었다.
