해설문
국문
홍성 여하정은 1896년 홍주목사 이승우가 옛 청수정 자리에 세운 육각형의 정자이다.
여하정은 안회당 뒤편 연못에 세웠는데, 역대 목사들이 관청 일을 보다가 잠시 휴식을 취했던 곳이다. 육각형의 나무 기둥 6개로 지붕을 떠받치는데, 기둥에는 각 2수씩 총 12수의 5언시가 걸려 있다.
아담한 규모이지만 느티나무, 홍주아문, 동헌(안회당)과 함께 고려와 조선 시대의 역사를 간직하고 있으며, 오래된 나무와 연꽃들이 어우러져 한 폭의 풍경화를 연상케 한다.

영문 해설 내용
이 육각형의 정자는 1896년 홍주목사 이승우(1841-1914)가 세웠다. 역대 목사들이 관청 일을 보다가 휴식을 취하던 곳이다.
육각형의 나무 기둥 6개가 지붕을 떠받치고 있는데, 각 기둥에는 5언시가 적힌 현판이 2개씩 걸려 있다. 수령이 300년 이상된 왕버들나무, 6-7월에 만개하는 연꽃, 연못, 주변의 잔디 등이 어우러져 한 폭의 그림 같은 경관을 이루고 있다.
