This pair of pagodas located in Wolgwangsa Temple Site, were erected in front of the Buddhist temple's main building, Geumdang Hall, which is a typical arrangement of Buddhist temples from the Unified Silla period (668-935). The size and overall shape of the two pagodas are similar but the details differ, so it is unknown if they were built together during the same period. West pagoda was rebuilt after it had collapsed. The two pagodas measure 5.5 m in height and they are composed of two base tiers and three sets of body and roof stones. The corners and sides of the base were carved to look like pillars, as were the corners of the body stones. The roof stones are propped up with five-tiered supports. The decorative top of the East pagoda partially remains, but all of the West pagoda no longer remains.
