Muryangjeon is a Buddhist worship hall enshrining a statue of Amitabha, the Buddha of Western Paradise. It is believed that all beings who call the name of Amitabha while reflecting on his meritorious virtues can be reborn in the Buddhist paradise of the West.

First constructed in 664, Yongdamsa Temple was so large in scale that it included three subsidiary hermitages. However, the temple gradually declined over time, and the buildings currently remaining are Muryangjeon Hall and the monks' living quarters, both built in the middle period of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910). Daeungjeon Hall, located next to Muryangjeon, was built in the late 20th century.
