This ‘’three-story’’ stone pagoda is presumed to have been made in the Unified Silla period (668-935).  It was a common practice during that period to place two stone pagodas, called the East Pagoda and the West Pagoda, in front of the main worship hall of the temple and this pagoda is, in fact, the West Pagoda (of the pair). In 1980, it was designated as Treasure no. 675 and in 1984 it was dismantled and reassembled. Only twelve stones from the East Pagoda remain, so in 2010 it was built anew.*

In the process of dismantling the West pagoda, a stone statue of a seated Buddha was discovered in the base tier. The statue was designated Treasure no. 676.
