기존 국문
어사대는 조선시대 정조(1776~1800 재위)가 아버지인 사도세자의 능인 현륭원에 참배하러 가는 도중에 잠시 들러 휴식하며 활을 쏘았던 곳으로 욕은지와 함께 자리 잡고 있다.
예전에 동쪽방향 정자가 있었다고 하는데, 지금은 흔적을 찾을 길이 없고, 고종 24년(1887)에 중수하였다는 표지석만 남아있다.

어사대는 ‘왕이 활을 쏜 곳’이라는 뜻으로, 조선 제22대왕 정조(1776~1800 재위)가 정조 21년(1797) 부평도호부를 방문했을 때 욕은지에서 활을 쏘며 여흥을 즐긴 것을 기념하여 세운 비석이다. 욕은지와 어사대는 원래 다른 곳에 있었으나 고종 24년(1887)에 이곳으로 옮겼다.

영문 해설 내용
조선 정조(재위 1776-1800)가 1797년 부평도호부를 방문했을 때 욕은지에서 활을 쏘며 여흥을 즐긴 것을 기념하여 세운 비석이다. 이 비석 앞면에는 ‘왕이 활을 쏜 곳’이라는 뜻의 '어사대'라는 이름이 새겨져 있다. 욕은지와 어사대는 원래 지금 자리에서 약간 동쪽에 있었으나 1887년에 이곳으로 옮기면서 보수하였다.
