해설문

국문

생가의 상량문에 의하면 안채는 1914년, 사랑채는 1932년에 건립되었다. 안채는 ㄱ자형 평면의 전형적인 경기도 지역의 건축형태를 따르면서 20세기 초 생활상의 변화를 반영하여 부엌과 대청 사이에 연결 통로를 설치하였다. 사랑채 역시 전통가옥의 형태를 유지하면서도 유리창을 설치하는 등 시대적인 변화를 적절히 가미하고 있다.

안재홍은 일본 유학시절 학우회를 조직하여 독립운동에 가담하였다. 귀국 후 중앙학교 학감, 조선일보 주필 및 사장 등을 역임하면서, 언론·교육활동을 통한 민족계몽과 독립사상 고취에 헌신하여 옥고를 치르기도 하였다.

8·15광복 후 여운형과 함께 건국준비위원회를 조직하였고 부위원장으로 활약하였다. 미군정기에는 민정장관을 역임하고, 1950년 평택에서 제2대 국회의원에 당선되었으나, 6·25전쟁 중 납북되어 1965년 평양에서 사망하였다.

국문 수정안

해방 전후의 대표적인 언론인인 안재홍(安在鴻, 1891~1965)이 살던 집이다.

안재홍은 일제강점기 조선일보 주필로 재직하면서 신간회와 물산장려운동을 이끌었으며, 고대사 연구에 앞장선 독립운동가이자 학자였다. 1950년 평택에서 제2대 국회의원에 당선되기도 하였다. 6·25전쟁 중 납북되어 1965년 평양에서 사망하였다.

원래는 대문간채까지 있는 큰 집이었으나 현재는 안채와 사랑채만 남아 있다. 안채는 1914년, 사랑채는 1932년에 건립되었다고 한다.

안채는 ㄱ자형의 모양으로 부엌과 대청 사이에는 연결 통로가 있다. 사랑채는 ㄷ자형의 모양으로 대청보다 한 단 높은 누마루가 있다. 이 집은 20세기 초 생활상의 변화를 반영한 경기지역의 살림집의 모습을 보여주고 있다.
