Musu-dong in which this house is located was a clan village of members of the Andong Gwon Clan. In 1707, Gwon I-jin moved his father’s tomb/grave to Musu-dong, and constructed the Yeogyeongam Hermitage, which also serves a ritual house, in 1715. 해설문

국문

이곳은 영조 때 호조판서를 지낸 유회당 권이진(有懷堂 權以鎭) 선생이 처음 터를 잡았던 곳이다. 보문산(普門山) 서남 방향으로 제일 아래에 안동 권씨 집성촌이 있고, 그 가운데에 유회당 종가가 있다. 종가 일원에 안채, 사랑채, 사당, 연지 배회담(徘徊潭), 광영정(光影亭) 등이 있다. 원래는 행랑채가 있었으나 광복 후 퇴락하여 없어졌다. 현재의 종가는 유회당 권이진의 아들 권형징(權泂徵)이 세운 것으로, 이후 여러 번의 중수를 거쳐 현재에 이르고 있다.

종가의 안채는 ‘ㄱ’ 자형의 평면이며 사랑채는 ‘ㅡ’ 자형 평면이다. 이 둘은 약간의 사이를 두고 앞뒤로 떨어져 있다. 사랑채 뒤편의 조금 높은 곳에는 사당이 남향으로 배치되어 있다. 종가 앞에는 배회담(徘徊潭)이라는 연지(蓮池)와 광영정(光影亭)이라는 정자가 있는데, 이들의 이름은 주자(朱子) 시 관서유감(觀書有感) 중 “하늘빛과 구름 그림자 함께 배회하누나(天光雲影共徘徊)”란 구절에서 가져온 것이다. 광영정의 안에는 동쪽에 수월란(受月欄), 서쪽에 관가헌(觀稼軒), 남쪽에 인풍루(引風樓), 북쪽에 광영정이란 현판이 걸려 있다.

영문 해설 내용

조선시대의 문신인 권이진(1668-1734, 호: 유회당) 가문의 종택이다. 종택이란 한 집안의 종가가 대대로 사는 집이다.

권이진은 1694년 과거에 급제해 여러 관직을 지냈으며, 1728년에 일어난 반란을 수습하여 공신이 되었다.

종택이 위치한 무수동은 안동권씨 집성촌이었다. 권이진은 1707년 부친의 묘소를 이곳 무수동으로 이장하고 1715년에 재실인 여경암을 지으면서, 이 집을 함께 지어 정착하였다.

종택은 화재로 소실된 것을 1788년 후손들이 현재의 자리에 다시 지었으며, 여러 차례의 중수를 거쳤다. 현재 안채, 사랑채, 사당, 정원으로 이루어져 있으며, 정원에는 연못과 광영정이라는 정자가 있다.

  • 먼저 남쪽의 광영정(光映亭)은 함께 조성한 연못에 그림자가 비치는 정자란 의미를 담았다고 한다. 동쪽엔 수월난(受月欄)은 달빛을 받아들이는 난간이라는 의미로 달이 뜨는 모습을 담을 수 있어서 지은 이름으로 보였다. 서쪽엔 관가헌(觀稼軒)으로, 농사짓는 들을 바라볼 수 있는 의미를 담았다. 북쪽엔 인풍루(引風樓) 바람을 받아 들이는 누각이라는 의미를 담았다.
