사양당(四養堂) 심충겸(1545~1594)은 당파 서인(西人)의 우두머리인 심의겸(沈義謙)과 조선 명종의 비인 인순왕후의 동생이다. 선조 25년(1592) 임진왜란 때 왕을 모시고 피난하였다가 세자 광해군의 일행과 함께 병사를 훈련시키고 군대 식량을 마련하는 등 왜적 방어에 힘썼다. 묘에는 부인 전주 이 씨가 함께 묻혀 있다.

신도비는 인물의 생애와 업적을 기록한 비석이다. 심충겸 신도비는 인조 4년(1626)에 세운 것으로 묘의 우측에 있다. 비석의 글은 신흠(申欽)이 짓고 막내아들 심열(沈悅)이 글자를 썼다. 바위에 홈을 파서 세운 것이 특이하다.
