해설문

국문

궁궐 서쪽 담장의 이 수구는 서남편 모서리 지점에서 발견되었다. 수구는 암거 형태로 화강암 석재를 넓게 판석으로 다듬어 바닥을 깔고 양 측면은 다듬은 석재를 6~7단 내외로 쌓아 만들었다. 총길이는 5.89m, 너비는 약 1m, 높이는 약 1m이다. 궁궐 담장의 안쪽으로 1.12m 더 길게 만들어져 있고, 바닥면의 경사는 안쪽에서 바깥쪽으로 4.5〬 이다. 내부에서 물을 두 줄기로 나누기 위하여 판석형 석재를 바닥에 똑바로 세워 두었는데, 이는 침입자가 수구를 통해 궁중으로 몰래 잠입하는 것을 막기 위한 조치로 보인다.
