해설문
국문
상주 증촌리 석조여래입상은 부처가 서 있는 모습을 돌에 돋을새김으로 조각한 불상이다. 불상의 전체적인 비례나 단정한 얼굴의 인상 등으로 미루어 보아 통일신라 후기에 제작된 것으로 보인다. 통일신라 후기 석불 입상의 경향을 알려주는 작품이다.
비바람에 마모되어 자세히 알 수 없지만, 얼굴은 길고 풍만하다. 양쪽 어깨에 걸친 옷자락은 간결하게 표현되었다. 불상의 머리 뒤에는 빛을 둥근 원으로 표현하는데, 증촌리 석조여래입상은 그 가장자리에 불꽃무늬를 새겼다. 한편 이곳 탑동은 신라 문무왕 16년(676)에 의상대사가 창건한 상안사가 있던 터라고 전해진다.

This Buddha statue of a standing Buddha with a halo behind him representing his radiating light is carved from a single rock.
Suggesting by the overall proportions of the Buddha statue or the features of his simple face, it is presumed to have been created during the Unified Silla period (668-935).
Due to the overall severe erosion, the exact decorations cannot be verified. His face is long and the robe over his shoulders is expressed as an outline. Originally, the halo is expressed as a full circle behind the head of the Buddha, but the halo of this Buddha statue is engraved with flames at the base.
영문 해설 내용
이 불상은 부처가 서 있는 모습과 부처의 몸에서 나오는 빛을 형상화한 광배가 하나의 돌에 새겨져 있다.
불상의 전체적인 비례나 단정한 얼굴의 인상 등으로 미루어 보아 통일신라 후기에 제작된 것으로 보인다.
전체적으로 마모가 심해서 세부 모습을 자세히 확인할 수는 없다. 얼굴은 길고, 양쪽 어깨에 걸친 옷자락은 간결하게 표현되었다. 보통 불상의 머리 뒤에는 둥근 원 모양으로 광배를 표현하는데, 이 불상은 광배 가장자리에 불꽃무늬를 새겼다.
