Dolmens can be found alone or in groups. There are five dolmen groups on Ganghwado, among which is this group of 9 dolmens located on the western slope of Goryeosan Mountain. These dolmens are table type dolmens. Table type dolmens are comprised of a wide, flat capstone supported by above-ground, upright, stone slabs, forming a shape similar to that of a table. Several dolmens in this group have small holes on their capstones, and some historians suggest that the holes are closely related to the constellations.
