The burial chamber was built by digging out a pit in the ground and then lining it with vertically positioned flat stones. A corridor leads from outside into the chamber. The floor of the chamber is laid with flat stones, under which is a layer of sand to naturally drain water, with no need for an additional drainage system. Iron nails were discovered inside the burial chamber, which suggests that the corpse was placed in a wooden coffin fastened with nails. No burial goods were found in the tomb.

The tomb was located just 10 km away from the capital of the Baekje kingdom, and the stone slabs used in its making were considerably large and chiseled with care, which suggests it was the burial site of members of the ruling class who lived outside the capital city’s limits.
