In 1941, during Japanese colonial rule, part of a kiln was found at the foot of Geumseongsan Mountain during road construction. After a brief excavation survey conducted at that time by the Japanese, the kiln was preserved by using a big rock for support and reinforcing the wall with cement mortar. Through another excavation survey conducted in 2015, two more kilns were found at this site. Despite only a small number of kilns having been found, the site holds historical significance in that it is the only kiln site found inside the Baekje capital.
