This shrine was established in **** to commemorate Kim Mok-gyeong, the founder of the Geumnyeonggun Branch of the Gimhae Kim clan, as well as two of his most esteemed descendants, namely Kim Il-son (1464-1498) and Kim Gwang-rip (1591-1665).
 +
 +
Kim Mok-gyeong passed the state examination during the reign of King Chungseon (r. 1308-1313) of the Goryeo dynasty (918-1392), after which he served two more kings as well as various official posts in the government. He helped pacify a revolt against the king in 1339, for which he was bestowed the title Geumnyeonggun, meaning "prince of golden serenity."
 +
 +
Kim Il-son passed the state examination in 1486 during the Joseon period (1392-1910). He primarily served official posts that required an incorruptible character, which involved tasks such as inspecting higher officials or admonishing the king. In 1455, when King Sejo (r. 1455-1468) took the throne from his nephew King Danjong (r. 1452-1455), Kim Il-son’s teacher, Kim Jong-jik (1431-1492), wrote a text criticizing Sejo’s usurpation of the throne. Kim Il-son included this text in his daily records which could be later included in the official history. These events developed into what is known as the Literati Purge of 1498, and Kim Il-son was executed.
 +
 +
Kim Gwang-rip passed the state examination during the reign of King Gwanghaegun (r. 1608-1623), served various official posts, helped pacify several revolts against the king, and made distinguished achievements in suppressing invasions in the north.

The shrine complex includes a main gate, a study, an inner gate, and a shrine. Ancestral rituals are held at the shrine yearly on the 13th day of the 3rd lunar month. The shrine is considered valuable as it honors figures from both the Goryeo and Joseon periods and has all the architectural features of a traditional shrine.
