해설문

국문

이 건물은 고려 말 전리판서를 지낸 남휘주(南暉珠)와 공조참판 남민생(南敏生)의 묘를 지키고 제사를 준비하기 위해 마련되었다. 건립연대는 1500년대로 추정되는데, 남흥사(南興寺) 법당 건물을 개조한 것으로, 이 곳의 지명을 따라 남흥재사로 이름붙였다고 한다.

이 재사는 정면 5칸, 측면 5칸의 ‘口’자형 건물로 오른쪽 대청을 누각식으로 꾸몄다. 이 누각 부분에는 고식의 문얼굴과 설주가 있는 등 조선 전기의 건축 수법이 남아 있다.

재사의 입구는 남쪽으로 향하고 있고, 대문간에 들어서면 왼쪽에 외양간이 있다. 외양간 옆에 고방과 부엌, 안방이 있다.

영문

This is a ritual house for the preparation of ceremonial rituals for Nam Hwi-ju (1326-1372), a civil official of the late Goryeo period, and his son Nam Min-saeng (1348-1407). It is presumed to have been built in the 16th century by renovating a hall of Namheungsa Temple.

The wooden-floored hall on the right side of this house was built like a pavilion, and its architectural style, including the ornamental design of its windows, shows the features of the early Joseon period. The complex of this ritual house also includes a stable, a warehouse, and a kitchen.
