This portrait was drawn on silk using colors. It is unique in that it depicts a man in ordinary clothes, unlike many other portraits of the Joseon period that usually display men in official robes. Kim’s face features a sligh frown, stiff lips, and bright eyes which vividly display not only his appearance but also his inner world.
