해설문
국문
부처의 제자 가운데 16분의 나한을 모시는 전각을 응진전이라 하고, 500분의 나한을 모시는 곳을 나한전(羅漢殿)이라 하는데, 기림사 응진전에는 500의 나한을 모시고 있다.
건물은 정면 5칸 규모에 맞배지붕으로 조선 후기 건축이다. 기둥 사이에도 공포를 설치한 다포 양식이다. 공포는 비교적 단순한 모습이지만, 건물 안쪽으로 대들보와 종보 위에 설치된 대공의 모습은 화려하다. 또 건물 내부는 양쪽으로 경사지도록 빗반자*를 설치하여 서까래가 보이지 않도록 하였다.

Eungjinjeon is a Buddhist worship hall that enshrines statues of Sakyamuni, the historical Buddha who lived in ancient India, and the Buddha's perfected disciples, known as arhats. Eungjinjeon Hall of Girimsa Temple enshrines statues of Sakyamuni and 500 arhats.
It is unknown when this worship hall was first constructed, but the current building dates to the late period of the Joseon dynasty (1392-1910). It has a gable roof with . Just below the roof are many wooden brackets which support the roof's weight. While the exterior design and color scheme is relatively simple, the interior features elaborate wooden carvings and colorful painted patterns. The ceiling's rafters are also hidden with wooden panels that are oriented to match the slope of the roof.
