해설문

국문

이 집은 안채와 사랑채, 아래채가 안마당을 둘러싸고 있으며 문간채, 바깥채 등 여러 건물로 구성되어 있다. 조선시대 상류주택의 공간구성을 따라 사랑마당과 안마당을 구분하였고, 안채 뒤에 넓은 뜰을 두었다. 사랑채는 남자들의 생활공간으로 1773년(영조 49)에 지어졌다. 대청과 방으로 이루어져 있고 전면에 난간을 두었다. 안채는 주로 여자들이 생활하는 중심 건물로, 1886년(고종 23)에 지었는데 전라북도 지방에서 보기 힘든 ‘ㄱ’자형집이다. 사당을 별도로 건립하지 않고 안채의 대청 1칸을 사당방으로 사용하고 있다. 조선시대 상류가옥이 근대 이후 농사일이 점점 중요시되면서 농가의 기능에 맞춰 공간이 변해가는 과정을 살필 수 있는 좋은 문화재이다.

영문 해설 내용

이 집은 조선 후기 상류층의 가옥이다. 18세기 후반부터 19세기 후반 사이에 100여 년에 걸쳐서 지어졌다. 현 소유주는 권희문이며, 그의 선조들이 17세기에 이 마을에 정착하였다.

이 집은 사랑채, 안채, 문간채를 비롯하여 여러 부속 건물들로 이루어져 있다. 사랑채는 1773년에 지어졌고, 안채는 1886년에 지어졌다. 전라도 지방의 가옥들이 일반적으로 일자형 구조인 데 반해, 이 집의 안채는 ㄱ자형이다. 안채는 대청, 방들과 부엌으로 이루어져 있으며, 대청 중 일부를 사당으로 사용하고 있다. 안채 뒤에는 넓은 뜰이 있다.

원래 상류층의 주택으로 지어졌으나, 세월이 흐르면서 농가로 바뀌었다.
