해설문
국문
일본 오사카(大阪)에 본점을 둔 일본 제58은행은 인천 전환국(典圜局)에서 주조되는 신화폐와 구화폐의 교환을 목적으로 1892년 인천에 지점을 설치하였다. 이어 1893년 부산, 1895년 서울에 지점을 설치하였고 양국에서 송금한 상품 대금의 결재와 무역 금융에도 주력하였다. 후에 야스다(安田) 은행으로 개편되었으며, 광복 후 조흥은행 인천지점, 대한적십자 경기도지사 사옥으로 사용되었다가 현재는 인천광역시 요식업조합이 사용하고 있다.
전체적으로 프랑스풍 벽돌조 2층 건축물로 1층은 석조 기단으로 되어 있고, 2층은 발코니와 아랫방을 밝게 하기 위하여 설치한 돌출창으로 되어 있는 것이 특징이다. 내부 일부는 개보수로 변경되었으나 오르내림식의 창문을 비롯하여 벽체와 기둥은 아직까지 원형을 유지하고 있다.

Former Japanese 58th Bank, Incheon Branch
The Japanese 58th Bank, headquartered in Osaka, Japan, set up its branch in Incheon in 1892. Its branch offices were also established in Busan and Seoul, in 1893 and 1895, respectively, and they mainly focused on trade finance as a part of Japan's economic invasion of Korea.
This French-style brick building was constructed in 1892. Its first floor has a stone foundation, and the second floor is decorated with a balcony. After the liberation of Korea in 1945, the building was used by a Korean bank and the Korean Red Cross. It is currently used by the Incheon Restaurant Business Association.
