It is said that Maitreya already descended from heaven and became the rock-carved Buddha at Dongburam Hermitage Site of Seonunsa Temple (Treasure No. 1200). Therefore, Ksitigarbha is now staying in this hall, symbolizing the Inner Court of Tusita, to save all beings from the world of suffering.
