국문

심수정은 여강이씨 문중에서 조선 중기 학자 농재 이언괄(聾齋 李彦适, 1494~1553)을 추모하기 위해 조선 명종 15년(1560)경에 지은 정자이다. 이언괄은 벼슬을 마다하고 형님인 회재 이언적(晦齋 李彦迪, 1491~1553) 대신 노모를 모신 분으로 ‘시끄러운 세상에 뜻을 두지 말고 귀먹은 듯 살아가라’는 뜻의 농재라는 호를 스스로 지었다고 한다. 지금 있는 정자는 철종 때에 행랑채만 빼고 화재로 모두 타 버려 1917년 원래 모습을 살려 다시 지은 것이다.

‘마음을 고요한 물과 같이 가지라’는 뜻으로 지은 이름으로 안락정과 강학당이 세워지기 전까지 마을의 서당 역할을 했다. 마을 안팎에 있는 10개의 정자 중 규모가 제일 크며, 여강이씨 집안의 종가인 무첨당과 향단을 바라보기 위해 건물을 ‘ㄱ’자로 배치하고 누마루를 두었다.
