This pavilion was originally called Yukhwajeong, meaning "six flower pavilion," because of its hexagonal shape resembling a flower. '''The roof and room layout of this pavilion are especially unique. While hexagonal pavilions typically have roofs with ridges that all meet at a central point, this pavilion features a complex hip-and-gable roof. And rather than a single room in the center surrounded on all sides by a wooden veranda, this pavilion consists of a wooden-floored hall in the front and two adjoined underfloor-heated rooms in the back. To either side of the rooms, a small closet was added to maximize the utility of the space. '''
