수심대
수심대는 무주 구천동의 33경 중 제12경에 해당한다. 수심대라는 이름은 신라 때 일지대사가 이곳에서 흐르는 맑은 물을 보고 깨우침을 얻은 이야기에서 기원했다고 한다. 이곳은 파회에서 0.4km 구간이 연계된 명승지로 절벽을 이룬 기암괴석이 병풍처럼 주변을 둘러싸고 있다. 이러한 모습이 금강산과 비슷해 이곳을 소금강(小金剛)이라고도 부른다. 또 물이 돌아나가는 곳이라고 하여 수회(水回)라고 부르기도 한다.
험준한 절벽과 하천 바닥의 평평한 지형이 어우러진 이곳의 멋진 경관은 오랜 풍화와 침식으로 만들어진 것이다. 수직 절벽의 기이한 바위에 소나무와 단풍나무가 어우러진 수심대의 풍경은 더할 나위 없이 아름답고 훌륭하다.

수심대
수심대는 무주 구천동의 33경 중 제12경에 해당한다. 오랜 풍화와 침식으로 만들어진 수직암벽이다.
‘물과 마음’을 뜻하는 ‘수심대’라는 이름은 신라 시대에 한 대사가 이곳에서 흐르는 맑은 물을 보고 깨우침을 얻었다는 일화에서 기원했다. 절벽을 이룬 기암괴석이 병풍처럼 주변을 둘러싼 모습이 금강산과 비슷해 이곳을 소금강(小金剛)이라고도 부른다. 수심대와 함께 명승으로 지정된 파회는 이곳에서 400m 떨어진 곳에 있다.
