강릉단오제 유적지

1. 대관령산신당
   • 강릉단오제의 중요한 신격(神格)인 대관령 산신 김유신(金庾信, 595~673) 장군을 모신 곳이다. 매년 음력 4월 보름 산신제를 지낸다.
2. 대관령국사성황사
   • 강릉단오제의 주신(主神)이자 굴산사를 창건한 범일국사를 모신 곳이다. 매년 음력 4월 보름 대관령국사성황제를 지내고 신목(神木)을 봉송(奉送)한다.
3. 구산서낭당
   • 대관령 옛길의 관문 역할을 한 구산역(丘山驛) 인근 서낭당이다. 매년 음력 4월 보름 대관령국사성황을 모신 신목 행렬이 도착하여 국사성황신의 위패를 모시고 서낭제를 지낸다.
4. 학산서낭당
   • 강릉단오제의 주신인 대관령국사성황 범일국사가 태어난 곳인 학산의 서낭당이다. 매년 음력 4월 보름 국사성황 행차가 구산서낭당을 거쳐 대관령국사여성황사로 가기 전 들려 서낭제를 지낸다.
5. 대관령국사여성황사
   • 강릉단오제 주신(主神)인 대관령국사성황의 배위(配位)인 대관령국사여성황을 모신 곳이다. 매년 음력 4월 보름 대관령국사성황을 합사하며 봉안제를 올리고, 음력 5월 3일 대관령국사성황 내외를 남대천 단오제단으로 모셔가기 전 영신제를 올린다.
6. 경방댁
   • 대관령국사여성황의 친정으로 전해지는 곳이다. 매년 음력 5월 3일 강릉단오제 영신행차 때 대관령국사성황 내외를 모시고 무당굿을 한 뒤 남대천 단오제단으로 신목을 모셔간다.

• Sacred Sites of the Dano Festival of Gangneung

1. Shrine for Mountain Deity of Daegwallyeong Pass
   • This shrine is dedicated to General Kim Yu-sin (595-673), who is venerated as the mountain deity of Daegwallyeong Pass, an important spiritual figure in the Dano Festival of Gangneung. A ritual honoring the mountain deity is held here annually on the 15th day of the fourth lunar month.
2. Shrine for Guardian Deity of Daegwallyeong Pass
   • This shrine is dedicated to State Preceptor Beomil (810-889), the founder monk of Gulsansa Temple. He is regarded as the guardian deity of Daegwallyeong Pass, the principal deity of the Dano Festival of Gangneung. Each year on the 15th day of the fourth lunar month, a ritual is held here, followed by the ceremonial procession of the sacred tree.
3. Village Guardian Shrine of Gusan-ri Village
   • This village guardian shrine is located near Gusan Post Station, which once served as a key gateway along the old Daegwallyeong Pass. Each year on the 15th day of the fourth lunar month, the sacred tree procession honoring the guardian deity of Daegwallyeong Pass arrives here to hold a ceremonial ritual.
4. Village Guardian Shrine of Haksan-ri Village
   • This village guardian shrine is located in Haksan-ri, the birthplace of State Preceptor Beomil who is regarded as the principal deity of the Dano Festival of Gangneung. Each year on the 15th day of the fourth lunar month, the procession of the sacred tree stops at this shrine for a ritual, after visiting the village guardian shrine of Gusan-ri Village and before proceeding to the shrine for guardian deity of Daegwallyeong Pass.
5. Shrine for Consort Guardian Deity of Daegwallyeong Pass
   • This shrine is dedicated to the consort guardian deity of Daegwallyeong Pass, who is the divine partner of the principal deity of the Dano Festival of Gangneung. Each year on the 15th day of the fourth lunar month, a joint ritual is held to honor both deities, followed by an enshrinement ceremony. On the 3rd day of the fifth lunar month, a spirit-welcoming ritual is conducted before escorting both deities to the altar nearby Namdaecheon Stream.
6. Gyeongbangdaek House
   • This house is regarded as the maiden home of the consort guardian deity of Daegwallyeong Pass. On the 3rd day of the fifth lunar month, during the spirit procession of the Dano Festival of Gangneung, a shamanic ritual is performed here while enshrining the divine couple. Afterwards, a sacred tree is carried to the altar nearby Namdaecheon Stream.
