이 우물은 1593년 당시 이순신이 한산도(閑山島) 통제영(統制營) 안에 운주당을 창건하고 1,340일 동안 머물면서 군사들과 함께 사용했던 우물이다. 바다에 가깝지만 짠맛이 전혀 없는 것이 특징이다.

영문

Well

This well was used by Admiral Yi Sun-sin and his soldiers during the nearly four years when they were stationed here during the Japanese invasions of 1592-1598.

It is noteworthy that, despite being so close to the sea, the water in the well is not at all salty.

영문 해설 내용

임진왜란 당시 이순신 장군과 군사들이 약 4년간 사용했던 우물이다.

이 우물은 바다에 가깝지만 짠맛이 전혀 없는 것이 특징이다.
