백야사는 구한말~일제 강점기의 독립운동가 김좌진장군의 행적을 기리기 위해 세운 사당이며, 백야는 김좌진의 호(號)이다.
김좌진은 1889년 음력 11월 24일, 홍주군 고남면(현 홍성군 갈산면 행산리)에서 태어났다. 1991년부터 이 지역 일대를 김좌진장군 생가지로 성역화하는 사업이 추진되면서 터만 남아 있던 김좌진장군의 생가를 복원하고 전시관을 만들었으며, 1997년에 백야사를 세웠다.

The shrine is located in Kim’s hometown Haengsan-ri Village, which has been undergoing a process of restoration as his birthplace since 1991. 영문 해설 내용
백야사는 일제강점기의 교육자이자 독립운동가인 김좌진(1889-1930, 호: 백야)을 기리는 사당이다.
1991년부터 김좌진의 고향인 홍성 행산리 일대를 김좌진 장군 생가지로 성역화하는 사업이 추진되었다. 1992년 터만 남아 있던 김좌진의 생가를 복원하고 기념관을 만들었으며, 1997년에 백야사를 세워 영정을 모셨다.
