해설문
국문
구례 읍사무소는 일제 강점기인 1936년에 지은 건물로 건립 이후 줄곧 관공서로 사용하고 있는 건축물이다. 이 건물은 애초에 구례군 청사였는데, 1982년에 군 청사를 이전한 후에 구례 읍사무소로 사용하고 있다. 본관 건물은 벽돌 구조로 된 건물이다. 건물의 구성이 좌우 대칭이며, 단아해 보인다. 丁자형 현관이나 입구 좌우의 별 모양 창문, 정면에 불거져 나온 삼각 지붕 아래의 격자형 채광창 등 다양한 외관이 당대의 건축 양식을 잘 보여 준다.
