해설문
국문
비암사는 세종시의 오래된 전통사찰이다. 사찰이 지어진 시기는 정확하지 않으나, 삼층석탑에서 발견된 계유명전씨아미타불비상(癸酉銘全氏阿彌陀佛碑像)에 새겨진 673년(계유년)을 통해 이 시기에는 이미 지어져 있었다고 추정할 수 있다.
비암사는 국가지정문화재(보물) 비암사 극락보전 1점과 시지정문화재(유형문화재) 3점을 가지고 있다. 삼층석탑에서 발견된 비상(碑像)* 3점은 현재 국립청주박물관에 소장되어 있다.

Biamsa Temple, Jeonui
Biamsa Temple is a traditional Buddhist temple located on Unjusan Mountain in Jeonui-myeon Township, Sejong. It is unknown when the temple was founded, but records suggest that it was already in existence by the late 7th century.
Biamsa Temple is home to several designated cultural heritages. These include one Treasure – the main worship hall, Geungnakbojeon – and three Sejong Tangible Cultural Heritages – a three-story stone pagoda, a clay seated Amitabha statue, and a hanging painting depicting the Buddha’s lecture on Vulture Peak. The temple also once housed three steles that were discovered inside the three-story stone pagoda, but these are now kept at the Cheongju National Museum.
영문 해설 내용
비암사는 세종시 전의면 운주산에 있는 전통사찰이다. 언제 창건되었는지는 정확히 알 수 없고, 기록에 따르면 7세기 후반에는 이미 사찰이 있던 것으로 추정된다.
비암사에 소장된 문화유산으로는 보물로 지정된 극락보전과 유형문화재로 지정된 삼층석탑, 소조아미타여래좌상, 영산회 괘불이 있다. 삼층석탑에서 세 불비상이 발견되었는데 현재 국립청주박물관에 소장되어 있다.
