해설문

국문

국보 제26호인 금동비로자나불좌상(金銅毘盧遮那佛坐像)을 모신 건물이다. 임진왜란 때 불타없어진 것을 현종 원년(1660년) 중건한 후로 여러 차례 중수해오다 허물어졌다. 지금의 건물은 1973년 창건 당시의 기단과 초석 위에 중건한 것이다.

Birojeon Hall

Birojeon is a Buddhist worship hall for the veneration of Vairocana, the Cosmic Buddha, who represents the absolute universal truth. The statue of Vairocana enshrined inside is designated as National Treasure No. 26. The current building was newly constructed in 1973 on top of the 8th-century stone foundation, which was all that remained of the original worship hall.
