The Faces of Gwangju: Activists
Story
- Gwangju is well known as the location of the May 18 Democratic Uprising, but it was also the site of other political movements, such as the Donghak Peasant Uprising and the March 1 Independence Movement. Many Gwangju natives fought for these causes, often giving their lives to them. The episodes in this story will highlight some such activitists, including Jo A-ra, Kim Tae-won, and the young women of Speen Girls' School.
