Gwangju is home to 103 dolmens, including those in Samgeo-dong and Yongdu-dong, which are designated as Gwangju Cultural Heritage Materials. The dolmens in Samgeo-dong comprise 49 dolmens in two groups in an area of 200 m. The nearby Chilseong Village, meaning "Seven Stars" is named after these dolmens, of which there are seven of particular size.
