Ella Graham (1889-1930) wrote Two Decades in the Hermit Kingdom (unpublished, 1907-1927). Paul S. Crane (1989-1919) wrote The Women of Korea (1918).[1] Anabel Nisbet (1869-1920) wrote Day In and Day Out In Korea (1919).[2]Lois Swinehart (1869-1971) wrote Jane in the Orient (1924),Sarangie: A Child of Chosen (1926)[3], Korea Calls!: A Story of the Eastern Mission Field (1929), and a biography of Elizabeth Schepping (1937). And Maria Dodson (1998-1972) wrote Half a Lifetime in Korea (1952).In particular, The Women of Korea and Sarangie: A Child of Chosen provide insight into the lives of girls and women at the time.
