The Faces of Gwangju: Artists 》From Gwangju to the World: K-pop Star J-Hope of BTS
Story
- J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok, born 1994), a member of the popular K-pop group BTS, was born and grew up in Gwangju. He attended Seoil Elementary School, Ilgok Middle School, and Gukje High School.
- Various sites have been made in Gwangju to commemorate J-Hope, including murals in Penguin Village and Balsan Village, and an installation called HOPEWORLD in Gwangju's K-pop Star Street.
- A "HOPEDAY" tour of Gwangju is also held to celebrate J-Hopes birthday.
- Other K-pop stars born in Gwangju include Yunho from TVXQ and Zuny from Ladies' Code.
