== Narrative ==
Civic groups engaged in climate action in Gwangju continue their efforts through everyday practices rooted in local living spaces. [[광주전남녹색연합|Gwangju–Jeonnam Green Korea United]] was founded in 2000 by members of environmental organizations. In 2019, it launched the [[광주가상발전소|Gwangju Virtual Power Plant]] to address the climate crisis and promote energy self-reliance, and in 2020 established the [[빛고을시민햇빛발전협동조합|Bitgoeul Citizen Solar Power Cooperative]], building a citizen-led model of renewable energy.

[[한새봉두레|Hansaebong Dure]] is a community formed in 2009 by residents concerned with ecology and the environment, who practice environmentally friendly rice farming in [[일곡동|Ilgok-dong]]. The [[기후행동비건네트워크|Vegan Climate Action Network]], founded in 2011, has promoted a once-a-week vegetarian campaign and related educational activities, and in 2022 operated an online course titled “[[비건스쿨2022|Vegan School 2022]].”
