개요
2020년 11월 17일 데뷔한 SM 엔터테인먼트 소속의 4인조[1] 걸그룹. 그룹명 'aespa'는 아바타(avatar)와 익스피리언스(experience)의 앞 글자를 딴 'ae'와 양면이라는 뜻의 'aspect'를 결합한 것이다.

아이(ae)
aespa는 엄밀히 말하면 8인조 걸그룹이다. 인간인 카리나, 지젤, 윈터, 닝닝뿐 아니라 그들의 아바타 멤버인 æ-카리나, æ-지젤, æ-윈터, æ-닝닝 또한 aespa의 멤버이기 때문이다. 여기서 아이(æ)란 현실에 존재하는 멤버들의 일상생활에서 업로드된 데이터를 통해 가상세계에서 생성된 AI 멤버를 칭한다. 다시 말하자면 아이 멤버들은 실제 인간 멤버들의 또다른 자아라고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 인간 멤버들과 아이 멤버들은 정서적으로 매우 긴밀하게 연결되어 있어, 서로를 소중한 친구로 여긴다. æ 멤버들은 현실 세계의 멤버들에게 영향을 받긴 하지만, 평범한 인간과 마찬가지로 독립적인 자아를 가지고 있어 주체적으로 삶을 살아가는 존재이다.
카리나
전투 능력은 Rocket Puncher. 능력이 발현될 때 푸른색으로 빛나며 적을 펀치로 공격한다.
æ-카리나
지젤
전투 능력은 Xenoglossy. 배운 적 없는 외국어를 할 줄 아는 능력이자 빛을 자유자재로 다룰 수 있는 능력이다.

윈터
전투 능력은 Armamenter. 군비, 무기라는 뜻인 armament에 er을 붙인 무기 능력자란 의미로, 목검, 칼, 총 등의 무기를 이용한다.

닝닝
전투 능력은 E.D Hacker. E.D 단체의 해커이다.
