What is exploration? Exploration is the making and investigating of historical remains.

- Introduction to Korean Studies A
This introductory course covers the main research areas, topics, trends, and research methodologies of the field of Korean Studies in order to prepare students with the basic knowledge and understanding required to become Korean Studies scholars and, in particular, Korean Studies educators teaching foreign students. This course aims to provide students with the competence in methodology and research required of Korean Studies scholars and educators.
- South-North Korean Relations
What kind of nation is North Korea? What is its international status and how does it interact with global society? What do South Korea (ROK) and North Korea (DPRK) mean to each other, and what are they doing? What can or should the North and South do for the survival and development of the 21st century nation? This class aims to find the answers to these questions.
- Korean Studies Research Methods
Although there is already a compulsory course on methodology, the specifics of methodology possible and appropriate for ‘Korean Studies’ is another topic to be discussed. This course aims to have students consider qualitative methodology paradigms and familiarize them with the various methodologies necessary for Korean Studies research so that they will be able to use them appropriately. This course gives students an opportunity to consider and discuss the actualities of methodology and their application, as well as how to approach Korean Studies in Korea and as a foreigner.
