 안동 병산서원 만대루(晩對樓)의 현판에서 "만대(晩對)"란 이름은 두보(杜甫)의 오언율시(五言律詩)인 <[https://hanyu.baidu.com/shici/detail?pid=821e968d36024c8f98cf702490092cf1&from=kg0 백제성루(白帝城樓)]> 의 "···푸른 병풍같은 절벽은 저녁놀에 (늦게) 대할 만하고, 백제성 산골짜기는 깊이 들어 노닐기 좋아라(翠屏宜晚對, 白谷會深游。)···"란 구절에서 명명되었다고 하며 송나라 주희(朱喜)가 경영한 무이정사(武夷精舍)에도 만대정(晩對亭)이 있었다고도 한다.
