  1. Program (Korea-related degree offered) : East Asian Studies Minor
    • Programs Remarks - An interdisciplinary exposure to the language, culture, history, and economics of East Asia. Students select courses on East Asian Studies list to fulfill the elective portion of the minor.

      • Courses Remarks - An introduction to the political, social and cultural history of East Asia to 1600.
    2. Korea-related Courses : HIST 142 - Survey of East Asian Civilization since 1600
      • Courses Remarks - An introduction to the political, social and cultural history of East Asia since 1600.
    3. Korea-related Courses : ANTH 342 - Peoples and Cultures of East Asia
      • Courses Remarks - An introduction to the peoples and cultures of East Asia. The course will focus on contemporary life in China, Korea, and Japan, including cultural and social institutions, social norms, roles and life-styles, and the nature, context and consequences of social change.
    4. Korea-related Courses : RELG 215 - History of Religion in East Asia
      • Courses Remarks - Introduction to the religious systems of China and Japan, including the literatures, histories, thought patterns and practices of the major schools of Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism and Shintoism.
    5. Korea-related Courses : ARTH 255 - The Art of East Asia
      • Courses Remarks - This course introduces students to Asian artistic traditions centered in East Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam), in relation to South and Southeast Asia, with a focus on painting, sculpture, architecture and archeological sites, as well as Buddhist art.

      • Courses Remarks - An introduction to East Asian cultures through the modern and contemporary film of China, Taiwan and Japan. The class takes a cross-cultural approach by looking at various social, political and cultural themes as they vary across time and across East Asian countries.
