안녕하세요

My name is Maria de las Mercedes Rasero Garcia but my friends just call me Mercedes or Mer. I am currently enrolled at the University of Salamanca, where I am studying Spanish Language and Literature as well as doing my minor in Korean. Since I was not able to practice Korean during the last year, I am incredibly happy to receive this opportunity. I hope that it will not only improve my Korean but also make new friends from different countries.

I am a very outgoing person so I love to have fun and interesting experiences with new people. The community here at AKS has been very welcoming and forthcoming and I appreciate it very much. I look forward to having more exiting trips during our stay, where we can learn interesting facts about the Korean culture. For me Korea is like my dream coming true.

한국어 수업(Korean Language Class)

Every morning, at 9 o'clock, we have to be in the AKS' Graduate School (한국학대학원) for our language lessons. As far as I do not have enough language skills in Korean to understand everything, sometimes I feel a little bit lost but our teacher is really kind and helps me quite a lot, so that I can do my best. We do not just learn about grammar and vocabulary, we learn about tradition and customs too. When we have an excursion she helps us understand better what we were actually doing and explains the parts which we were unable to understand. It is beautiful to have a good teacher who has patience and loves teaching us (even if we are difficult sometimes).

Trip to Gyeongju

For a couples of days we have been traveling around Gyeongju, which is full of museums and monuments. I must recognize that I am not really into pottery museums but there were scultures and jewellery and ancient paints, which was amazing.

It was kind of nice and quite different to all the places we saw before on here. We went to some parks and temples; that little visits were charmed because we could enjoy the enviroment and was really relaxing.

Furthermore, we went to the beach and we had also many differents kind of food.

The time we spent in there was nice because we could know each other better/deeply inasmuch as we change our ordinary roommates.
