1. Program (Korea-related degree offered) : Major in Asian Studies
   • Program Remarks - Asian Studies allows students to learn about the inhabitants of the Asian continents. The geographical focus is on the Eurasia and the Asia-Pacific. The program encompasses economics, foreign languages, history, political science, sociology, and religion, and is dedicated to providing opportunities for foreign study and field experiences.
   1. Korea-related Courses : AST 4310 Societies and Cultures of East Asia (Cross-listed as ANT 4310)
      • Course Remarks - Cultural traits and social structures of China, Korea, and Japan in the context of their development from the traditional to the modern. Special attention on Japanese society in comparison with American society.
   2. Korea-related Courses : AST 4364 The Governments and Politics of the Asia-Pacific Region (Cross-listed as PSC 4364)
      • Course Remarks - Historical development of the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on the contrasting roles played by China, Japan, and the United States. Discussion of alternative models of economic development and the impact of ASEAN and APEC on regionalism. Survey of the socio-political conditions in and among the region's states, with wpecial attention devoted to Korean unification and cross-strait relations.
   3. Korea-related Courses : AST 4374 Governments and Politics of East Asia (Cross-listed as PSC 4374)
      • Course Remarks - Government organization and functions, political processes, and major developments in the political systems of Japan, China, and Korea since World War II.
   4. Korea-related Courses : AST 3315 Geography of East Asia (Cross-listed as GEOG 3315)
      • Course Remarks - Geographical analysis of physical, cultural, economic, and political factors in East Asia, including land and resource usage, population changes, and economic development.
   5. Korea-related Courses : AST 4340 East Asian Philosophy (Cross-listed as PHI 4340)
      • Course Remarks - An historical and critical survey of the major movements in Chinese, Indian, or Japanese philosophy. Course may be repeated once with different area of concentration.
