On the fifth day of the third month of Gapyin year (1614), Mrs. Kim, something-three years old (probably forty-three), who is the wife of the late scholar-in-training Yun Sahoe, said:

"Based on the appendix attached to the invocation made by the temple slave Privy, you [the official at the magistrate] have told me to verify the truth of the fact that I sold a slave. After the war, the destitute and desperate circumstances of my household has become so pressing, so I sold the eighteen-year-old male slave Jongnam born in Jeongyu year--the son of a female slave Geundeok who is the daughter of a female slave Seokgeum whom my late husband's male slave Jeongryeon had bought [in his stead]--and his offspring forever to the same person [Privy] in exchange for a five-year-old male horse that is worth twenty-five bulks of cotton or four-thousand paper bills. I verify that this was the case."
