흥복전 현판

Definition

‘흥복(興福)’은 ‘복을 일으킨다’는 뜻이다. 『한서(漢書)』 「공광전(孔光傳)」에 “하늘에 순응하고 이단을 막으며,화를 없애고 복을 일으킨다[興福].”라는 표현이 보인다. 『북궐도형』에는 나타나나 『궁궐지』에는 실리지 않았다. 현재 흥복전 일대가 대대적인 복원 사업 중이며 현판은 걸려 있지 않다. 덕수궁에도 흥복전이 있었다.
