Definition
건극문은 덕수궁의 남쪽 담장에 위치하고 있었던 궁문이다. 현재는 사라지고 없다. 덕수궁은 중화전(中和殿)을 짓기 전까지는 즉조당을 정전으로 사용하고 인화문을 정문으로 사용하였었는데, 1902년 궁궐을 중건한 뒤 인화문 자리에 건극문(建極門)을 세웠다.
