+홍계훈(洪啓薰). ?~1895. 1882년(고종 19) 임오군란이 발발하였을 때, 명성왕후를 궁궐에서 탈출시킨 공으로 중용되었다. 동학농민운동이 일어나자 양호초토사(兩湖招討使)로 출전하였으며, 그 공로로 훈련대장에 임명되었다.1895년 을미사변 때 광화문을 수비하다가 일본군의 총탄에 맞아 전사하였다. 군부대신에 추증되고, 충의(忠毅)이라는 시호를 받았으며, 1900년에 이경직(李耕稙)과 함께 장충단에 제향되었다.
