【1865~】. 영국 구세군(The Salvation Army). 영국 감리교 목사였던 윌리엄 부스(William Booth)가 창립한 교파. 감독제 형태의 군대식 조직 갖춤. 복음전도를 통한 '영혼구원'과 사회사업을 통한 '이웃사랑'을 목표로 함.

구세군의 한국 선교는 1908년 로버트 허가드(Robert Hoggard)사관 일행이 서울에 도착함으로써 시작됨.
