+【1894년】. 연동교회. 대한예수교장로회(통합)에 소속된 교회. 서울특별시 종로구 연지동에 위치한다. 미국 북장로회에서 파송된 선교사 사무엘 무어(S.F. Moore, 한국명 '모삼열')가 1893년부터 전도하여 몇 명의 신자를 얻고 1894년 연지동에 초가 예배당을 매입하여 교회로 삼은 것이 시작이다. 이 후 3년간 선교사 그레함 리(Graham Lee, 한국명 '이길함'), 밀러(F.S. Miller, 한국명 '민노아'), 기퍼드(D.L. Gifford, 한국명 '기보')와 조사 서상륜, 김흥경 등의 전도로 1897년 2월에는 세례교인이 16명 되었다. 1900년 5월, 제임스 스카스 게일이 제 1대 담임목사로 부임하였다.
