【1894년~1914년】. 모충사(皇穹宇). 동학군을 진압하다가 전사한 70여 장졸들의 영령을 봉안한 사당. 1894년(고종 31) 청주목사 임택호(任澤鎬)가 남석교(南石橋) 밖에 설단(設壇)하고 치제(致祭)하였다.그 뒤 1903년에 대대장 안종환(安宗煥)의 계품에 따라 전몰 장교들에 대한 증직이 이루어졌으며, 동시에 당산(唐山)에 단을 만들고 모충단이라는 단호(壇號)를 왕으로부터 받았고, 기념비각도 함께 세워졌다.이후 곽치중(郭致中)·윤영성(尹永成)·김순택(金順澤) 등의 주선으로 모충계가 조직되어 1914년 가을 당산에 사당을 세웠다. 향사일은 전몰일인 음력 10월 3일로 정하였으며, 사당이 여러 번 옮겨지다가 1975년 현재 위치에 세워졌다.건물구조는 목조기와집으로 정면 3칸, 측면 2칸의 팔작집이다. 경내에는 동학군을 진압하는데 공이 컸던 병마절도사 홍재희(洪在羲)의 사적비도 있다.
