서울시 중구에 위치하고 있는 구 국세청 남대문 별관은 일제강점기인 1937년 조선총독부 체신국 청사로 지어졌으며 건립 당시 건물명은 조선체신사무회관이었다. 구 국세청 남대문 별관이 위치했던 공간은 1960년 4.19혁명과 1980년 6.10혁명의 중심지이기도 하였다. 서울시는 광복 70주년을 맞아 건물을 철거하고 역사문화광장을 조성하고 있다.
