양금

Definition

양금(洋琴)은 사다리꼴 오동나무 통 위에 철사를 걸고서 가는 대나무[細竹]로 만든 채로 쳐서 연주하는 현악기이다. 마테오 리치(Matteo Ricci)에 의해 명대 말에 중국에 소개되었고, 한국에는 1770년대 말쯤 청으로부터 수용되었다. 조선후기 궁중연향을 기록하고 있는 진찬의궤 가운데 1828년(순조 28)『무자진찬의궤』부터 1901년 『신축진찬의궤』에 양금이 수록되어 있다.
